Synopsis



"Part Five" is a short, movement-based film created during the Koumaria Artist Residency in Sellasia, Greece. The film was conceptualized, choreographed, shot, composed, and edited within the residency's two-week time frame. The theme of the 2016 Koumaria Residency was "Diasporas in Dialogue: Multiculturalism, Migration and the Improvisatory Imagination."

Nadav Heyman



Nadav Heyman is a writer, dancer, and filmmaker currently based in Los Angeles. As a dancer, he was a solo performer and founding member of Ate9 Dance Company. His written pieces have been seen on the stages of Juilliard, Boston Conservatory, and Cornish College of the Arts. In 2015, Nadav was commissioned as a guest artist by the University of Maryland School of Performance Art. In 2016, he was one of ten artists invited to participate in the Koumaria Art Residency in Greece. His goal is to continue researching and observing the world through dance, story, and film.

Part Five was an extraordinary film to make. It was inspired by the curators and artists of the Koumaria Artist Residency in the spirit of collaboration and interdisciplinary dialogue.
