Simon Schneckenburger is a 26-year-old filmmaker from Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. His two main passions which have been defining his life for the last couple of years are writing and film. In his writing, Schneckenburger, who is fascinated by the small things which make up everyday life, inquisitively looks for exceptionalities in the ordinary. His very first short film NIMMERLAND was screened as supporting film at the Freiburger Filmfest and won Best Short Film at the film festival shorts in 2015. Other awards include the 2016 Deutscher Jugendfilmpreis as well as a nomination for the 2015 Deutscher Nachwuchsfilmpreis, both for his 2015 short film DEN REGEN IM BLICK. AM TAG DIE STERNE will be Simon Schneckenburger’s graduation film at Hochschule Offenburg. It is set to be his take-off into the great unknown while whatever the future holds in store, filmmaking will remain his one true love.
