Raised in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and Africa, Shannon is an award-winning theatre director and screen director. In 2007 she attended NIDA and has since been named the most influential graduate of the decade by Sydney Magazine. Shannon graduated from Directing at AFTRS (Australian Film Television and Radio School) in 2013. Her graduating short film, Kharisma, has screened at festivals including Cannes, Toronto International Film Festival, Palm Springs, Flickerfest, and Berlin Interfilm and was nominated for an AACTA award in the Social Shorts Comedy category. In 2016 Shannon directing the comedy drama, Offspring, and her latest short film, Eaglehawk, was selected for the 2016 Dendy Awards at the Sydney Film Festival and for the Melbourne International Film Festival. Eaglehawk stars Ryan Corr, Wayne Blair and Tilda Cobham-Harvey. Shannon will soon be directing episodes of the Nine Network series Love Child. Shannon?s stage work includes Crestfall (Griffin Independent), Tusk Tusk (Sydney Theatre Company), This Year?s Ashes, Porn. Cake, Beached (Griffin Theatre Company), Every Second, Broken (Darlinghurst Theatre Company), and Circle Mirror Transformation (Ensemble Theatre Company). She directed the devised piece, The One Eyed Man is King, for the Schaubühne in Berlin. Her immersive interpretation of Gluck's chamber opera Orfeo ed Euridice, staged at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, headlined the 2016 Spectrum Now Festival. Shannon won a Sydney Theatre Award for the Australian premiere of My Name Is Rachel Corrie. She is a recipient of the Mike Walsh Fellowship and the Instyle and Audi Women of Style Scholarship. She is one fifth of Dollhouse Pictures, a film production house with Rose Byrne, Krew Boylan, Jessica Carrera and Gracie Otto, filmmakers committed to exploring the creative boundaries of film, TV and theatre.
