Lukas Klaschinski was born in 1983 in West-Berlin, Germany. He started his career as a radio-host and editor. At the same time he joined the movies and became an assistant director for advertising film productions, feature films and documentaries - among them the award-winning documentary film „Skateistan – Four Wheels and a Board in Kabul“. While studying psychology, he took the decision to produce his own movies. He started with music videos and image films until he met the protagonist of his first documentary „Jackpot“ in the subway. He does not call himself a director, but he says he is an observer who asks questions that spark his interest. Central to his body of work is exploring the motivation of human decisions.
